DISCREET METAL MACHINE MUSIC

01 "Obscure Buddha" (Metal Machine Music by Lou Reed played at 33 1/3 RPM and Discreet Music by Brian Eno played at 45 RPM with live electronic manipulation by CM)
02 "Crack The Sky" (Pinnacles by Edgar Froese played at 45 RPM with live electronic manipulation by CM)
03 "Varieties, Binaries and Other Assortments" (Composed by KNIGHT and arranged/ reconstructed with electronic manipulation by CM)

All original sound recordings came from vinyl discs. Please note that the distortion in these DMMM recordings were deliberately altered during recording and not directly a result from these records, although my copy of Discreet Music is severely warped but I wouldn't want it any other way now.

This record is dedicated to the Mayans, and to human civilizations whom have had to deal with violence, all the while having peace in one's own self. It is recorded as Lo-Fi as I could make it. Play it on the crappiest speakers/ headphones you can find. You know, the kind that smell like Chinese chemical death...

Discreet Music is my all time favorite track ever put to magnetic tape. Although MMM cancels out the nuances of DM, I agree with ENO that they are both products of an ambient world. If there is another record I would recommend from Edgar Froese, it would be his contributions to "Phaedra" by Tangerine Dream. Apparently "Pinnacles" has been re-recorded by Edgar with about half of the track missing, so it is becoming difficult to find to the entire track. It is included here in its entirety albeit played fast. If you can find an old CD release, or used vinyl, get it. I don't know who the hell KNIGHT is, but I learned about his atonal compositions after picking up a record of his from an estate sale. If I had to choose between KNIGHT or an assault rifle, I would choose KNIGHT.
